Realignment. Resiliency. Return.
Scott Tate is running for St. Pete Beach Mayor to help all of us return to the vibrant city we love and remember

Meet Scott Tate
Like many in St. Pete Beach, Scott and his family's lives were upended by the devastating storms of 2024. What he saw in the aftermath was a city government unprepared to help residents and businesses recover — a permitting system that slowed rebuilding, unmaintained infrastructure that failed when it was needed most, and leadership priorities not focused on recovery and resiliency.
Scott decided to take action.
A husband, father, project management professional, and longtime Tampa Bay resident, Scott is running for Mayor to make sure our community can rebuild and thrive again. He's bringing decades of project management experience to realign city priorities and improve the city's resiliency while helping every family and business fully recover.
Born into a U.S. Air Force household, Scott grew up with a deep respect for service and integrity. After moving to Tampa Bay almost 40 years ago, he graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Engineering and Business Administration and went on to create a career helping engineering organizations solve complex challenges and deliver projects on time and on budget. Today, he serves on both the St. Pete Beach Police Pension Board and the Belle Vista Civic Association Board, working hands-on to improve his community.
When he's not leading projects or serving his neighbors, Scott enjoys spending time on the beach and playing music with friends. He and his wife, Lynette, are committed to helping create a better St Pete Beach for our community and future generations to come.
The Issues

Realigning City Priorities
For too long, city leadership has focused on the wrong priorities while residents and businesses struggle to rebuild. Scott will restore accountability, and focus our city's resources where they matter most — cutting wasteful spending, reducing red tape, helping the city fully recover, and improving resiliency. He'll apply his project management expertise to deliver results efficiently, ensuring that every dollar serves the public good.

Resiliency Improvements
Storms exposed what many already knew — improving St. Pete Beach's fragile infrastructure should be a priority. Scott will prioritize long-term resiliency through stormwater and wastewater upgrades, and sustainable development that protects the city, while preserving the city's rich character and natural beauty. Resiliency isn't just about surviving the next storm — it's about creating a city that can thrive for generations to come.

Returning to a Vibrant Community
More than a year after the 2024 storms, too many families and businesses are still waiting to return to St Pete Beach. Scott's mission is simple: get our neighbors back where they belong. He will streamline the permitting process, strengthen partnerships with state and county recovery programs, and hold local government accountable for faster, fairer results. We all deserve a city that helps us rebuild — not one that stands in the way.
